He Has Risen: Walk in the Victory Already Won

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. — Matthew 28:6, NIV

As believers, we no longer need to carry sin’s weight. Yet, we often live as if redemption depended on us. We strive, work, and try to be sufficient. But the empty tomb tells a different story—one where grace triumphs and Christ’s victory, not our effort, seals our redemption.

The Resurrection surpasses a mere historical event; it is the foundation of our faith. Without it, our hope crumbles. But because Jesus lives, so do we. He walked out of that tomb so we can walk in the newness of life, no longer bound by sin, shame, or fear. The Crucifixion paid our debt, but the Resurrection declared our freedom.

Christ’s Resurrection isn’t just an event we celebrate; it’s a reality we live in daily. When we grasp the power of the Resurrection, our lives change. We stop striving for approval because we already have it. Jesus defeated death, so we stop fearing the future and no longer carry the burdens He lifted. Redemption means we don’t have to prove our worth; we accept the worth our Savior already gave us.

How, then, do we live as Resurrection people? We walk forward as heirs of God’s promise instead of captives of our past. Anchored in truth, we let Christ’s victory shape our thoughts and actions. We live boldly, love deeply, and have complete trust because our Redeemer lives.

Please take a moment to reflect on Matthew 28:6. What areas of your life still feel chained to the past? Write them down, then surrender them to Christ in prayer. The tomb is empty, granting you freedom. Live like you believe it.
